Director of Golf Instruction at the Dade County owned Country Club of Miami. Instructor for The PGA Of America at the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and the Toski Batersby Golf Learning Center in Pompano, Florida.

Opened sales area for Eagle Flight Golf in South Florida. The company started out with two clubs supporting the product in the fall of 2002 and now has over 200. Introduced and sold to Clubs and Members a unique club and shaft fitting system. The system determines exact shaft flex (shaft loading & unloading points) for the individual golfer which increases power, accuracy, and ability to maintain rhythm club to club and swing to swing.

As a fully trained instructor of all aspects of the Dave Pelz scoring game technique, I teach the short game as designed by Dave Pelz in a 3-Day Golf School and 1-Day Clinic environment. Travel across the country teaching Scoring Game Clinics and Schools. Most of the clientele is very affluent and has included Heads of State and Media Personalities as well as top PGA, LPGA, European PGA, and Mini Tour Players. Duties: Set up each Clinic or School with the unique Pelz guidelines in a School or Clinic structure. Give precise presentations of up to 8 per day an hour in length to school and clinic groups. Assist senior instructor with administrative and training duties at School and Clinic sights. Give “One-on-One Instruction” to Pelz Alumni.

Restructured and revitalized the golf operation. Created new standards in service philosophy and environment. Renovated the Golf Shop, Golf Bag Storage, and Cart Storage areas. Took part in replacement and then prepared the facility for a new fleet of golf cars. Recreated Men’s and Ladies’ Member Guest Tournaments and Men’s Club Championship. Revitalized Golf Shop Inventory. Responsible for, but not limited to, the Golf Operation budget, Tee times, Collection and Reporting of Revenue, Controlling of Expenses, Staff Scheduling, and Outside Service Staff as well as an Instruction Program that included a Monthly Free Clinic, Weekly Free Ladies Clinic, and Jr. Clinic. Contracting outside events. Member events including preparation for Men’s Women’s and Senior association weekly events. Administered the Sumner handicap and tournament computer system. Created the monthly golf events calendar and golf tip. Coordinated activities with the Men’s and Women’s Golf Committees, Food and Beverage, Membership, and Maintenance departments.
Boca Raton Resort and Club 1996 Boca Raton FL, Private Resort and Club. Head PGA Golf Professional, (Bob Coman Director of Golf)
Responsible for all resort golf operations at four separate courses. Operations included tournament set up for group and member events, preconvention preparation and coordination with many departments including sales, convention service and setup, room reservations, maintenance, security, engineering, transportation, guest services (front desk bellman valet), and accounting. Handled computerized scheduling for complete golf staff of 20-25 people. Used CGS Tee Time Management and Sumner Tournament Management systems. Ordered hard goods for two golf shops that grossed three million dollars in annual revenue. Largest organized event: Coopers and Lybrand, 600-player shotgun. Largest volume day: six events on four courses, moved 1000 players and their equipment.
St. Lucie County Fairwinds Golf Course 1991-1996 Fort Pierce FL,
18 Hole Public Facility, Head PGA Golf Professional, (General Manager Mark Cammarene then Ron Alex)
Built by Jim Fazio. Course produced an in season average round count of 7,000 and a monthly average revenue of $170,000. In its first two seasons, the facility won the Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties. It was nominated to a list of top twenty new public golf courses in Golf Digest Magazine, won best new public facility from the National Golf Foundation for 1993, received the Grand Award, one of seven given nationwide for engineering excellence, and was the feature article and Centerfold Golf course for first quarter USGA Magazine in 1996.
Supervised the golf course while under construction on through to include the operational phase. Consulted and advised the General Manager on all opening and operational matters, including: irrigation, grow-in maintenance equipment purchases, hiring of employees, computer system, budget, business plan and rate structure; golf shop purchase and floor plan; acquisition of licenses; setting up the chart of accounts, administering the grand opening tournament and all golf tournament operations; and the setup of advertising and media releases. Directed all golf service staff—i.e. starters and rangers, bag service personnel, cart maintenance, golf shop staff, and practice range staff. Performed golf instruction activities including the design building and a complete teaching and practice facility 360 yards long x 150 yards wide, as well as the Jr. program. Created the 2-Day Fairwinds Golf School, the private lesson program with three instructors, clinics for beginners, ladies, men, and juniors as well as golf club demonstration days. Worked with a team of county and government officials to create a new and growing quality golf operation.
Savanna Club Golf Course 1988-1991 Port St. Lucie FL Semi-Private 18 Hole Executive Manufactured Home Community. Head PGA Professional then General Manager, (Reported to Dan Pesant then to the Project Manager)
Opened, initiated, and organized the golf operation including, but not limited to, tournaments, handicap system, and golf cart lease. Responsible for the hiring and supervising of all golf staff. Related and integrated membership, accounting, and maintenance departments with the golf operation. Created and managed a successful plan to reduce the deficit from $196,000 in 1990 to a break-even point in 1991. In January of 1990, the net loss for Savanna Club Golf Course was $7,000. In January of 1991, the net profit was $44,000. The total turn-around for the club in January 1991 was $51,000. Designed a temporary then permanent cart storage and golf shop facility as part of a total 25,000 square foot country club project. Managed the Savanna Club Beginner Golfers Program, the Savanna Club Golf School, and three private instructors. These golf instruction programs educated hundreds of golfers each year. Worked with a team of park directors, golf committee members and developer to enhance and produce an excellent golfing environment.
