In November, 2000, senior members of the golf industry gathered
as part of a program called GOLF 20/20: Vision for the Future. The
primary purpose of GOLF 20/20 is to ensure the future of the
game by implementing programs that will actively increase
participation and interest.
One of the major areas identified, of course, was junior golf.
Rather than create another new program, it was decided to first
gather information on the extent of junior golf in America, and to
establish a forum for communication. The first phase of that effort
is juniorlinks.com, which contains an ever-growing database of
junior programs in this country, and will ultimately provide a
vehicle for communication for junior golfers, their parents, and
junior program administrators. Responsibility for management of the
content of juniorlinks.com has been assumed by the USGA Foundation.
